kanishk pandey – playwright

kanishk pandey (he/him/his) is a joyous exile who attempts to live, to err, to fall, to triumph, to recreate life out of life. As a writer, he believes that art must be in constant conflict with society and express the love all beings deserve. His work interrogates this through the guiding light of the oversoul – that all souls are intertwined and that consciousness can only exist through dialogue and connection. And he follows these concepts in everything he does, be it plays, short stories, films, essays, poetry, graphic novels, and more. As long as he gets to talk to you.

Founded in 2010, Sanguine Theatre Company is a new-work laboratory that dismantles barriers for emerging artists. We create communal, collaborative processes and rehearsal rooms dedicated to artistic joy. Sanguine sees a world where any artist, regardless of background, class, race, gender, age, or education has the ability to professionally introduce themselves to the theatre industry and exercise their artistic voice in a fully supported container.

In recent years, we’ve expanded our programming to include more robust new play development workshop offerings, an open play submission process, and a virtual education series catered to managing the practical business aspects of a career in the arts.
